Welcome!

Welcome to my first blog post of 2025, and of the entire site! Since 2020, the year the world went crazy and we were shut inside for one of the sunniest summers that the UK had seen for a long time, I’ve been becoming increasingly more obsessed with ultra-running. That is, running anything over 26.2 miles; a distance which I declared was too far after my first marathon back in 2017. My first challenge was to run 50km in one day, broken up but completed between sunrise and sunset. It ended in my eating the majority of a KFC family bucket on my own, and with a trip to the hospital to x-ray a possible stress fracture the following morning. Since then, I’d like to say my approach has become more sensible and my trips to hospital fewer… In 2021, I completed my first official ultra – the Race to the Stones, which I’ve gone on to complete a further two times. I’ve also competed in Endure24 three times now, twice as a pair team, and once solo. This coming year will hopefully be my biggest year of ultras, and I only plan to go further in years to come. Follow along as I post rambling memories, current training, and future goals all related to ultra running!
